How Are Your New Year Credit Card Resolutions Going

We are well into 2007 and I know many of you resolved to lower your credit card spending.

With the post holiday sales being over and done with for another year. It's time to reflect on your current spending behaviours.

Have you changed your habits?

If you haven't changed the way you are using your credit cards and find yourself sinking further and further into the oblivion of debt then perhaps you should go back to square 1 and think about why you are spending.

Over spending in most cases is due to some emotional need that isn't being fulfilled.

Are you in a relationship that is less than satisfying?

Usually that's the case. When you are in a relationship where you are not feeling on equal ground you might tend to want to show control. The control you desire, you seek in spending on things for you. In a sense, what you are doing is saying "see, I am in control and I will do what I want!"

This is a very dangerous path to follow because you are not focussing on solving the problems in a relationship and in fact you are making things worse.

When you behave in this manner you not only have relationship problems, you will have huge money problems.

Before you venture off to the mall to demonstrate your need to be in control, seek help in your relationships.
Get your emotional problems solved first and soon your money problems will also be solved.
