The Discover Gold card comes with many beneficial features such as various card designs to choose from, convenient online service, emergency card replacement, auto rental insurance and no liability for unauthorized transactions. Along with all of these benefits, this card comes with an attractive 0% introductory rate that can be used for 12 months on balance transfers. This is a fantastic feature to have when you want to pay off high interest bills or loans. Think of all the money you will save in a full year.
Discover Gold also comes with a reward program where cardholders can earn up to 2% in cash rebates for purchases that are made with their card. The amount of money that is spent on the card reflects the cash rebate earned, so therefore, the more you charge to your card the better the reward. Spend up to $1500 on purchases and you will receive a .25% rebate and $3000 spent will give you a .5% rebate - spend over $3000 and you will receive a 1% rebate. So as you can see, this card is also great for those who would like to get some cash back and even double their rewards for gift certificates at popular retailers and restaurants.
Like any credit card however, you must be careful when taking out a cash advance. Make sure you think it over carefully because it comes with a hefty interest rate of 20.99% that starts as soon as you receive your cash. Be sure to pay your bill on time because if you are late, your introductory or special rate will be terminated and the purchase APR will apply to any purchases or balance transfers you have made. Overall, I think this card is a good one to have because of its many features, however keep in mind that they only offer their low rate on just transfers and not on purchases. So if you are always making everyday purchases, you should look to get a card that offers a low rate on purchases as well.
